Is it my imagination or does the stomach look smaller?
The always entertaining Luis Guzman teams up with the equally always entertaining John Leguizamo for this typical "let's get the dysfunctional family members together so they can dump baggage on each other" type flick. Not a bad flick, but with the two previously mentioned A-listers and Alfred Molina to make it three, a lot of great talent is wasted there. Using my Pinewoods Rating System, I give Nothing Like The Holidays an adequate Two Pinewoods.....The Horror!!
Nothing Like the Holidays Movie Review (2008)
Every once in a while, you sense you're watching actors being allowed to do what they hoped to do when they got into show biz. That would playing characters familiar to their experience, in a warm-hearted story, without exploitation and without a "message" as much as the right kind of feeling.
Nothing Like The Holidays (2008)
Multicultural holiday soap about a Latino family that gets together for Christmas and to welcome home one of their number from Iraq. There is triumph and tragedy and everything you'd expect from a film like this including laughs, tears, and a warm fuzzy feeling.
THE ABSOLUTE HORROR!!
